We do more than collect the bin from your street, we also convert waste into clean energy, divert food waste from landfill and convert to compost, manufacture customised waste management equipment, asbestos removal, refine and recycle oil, manage and maintain our fleet inhouse and have our own bespoke technology systems.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an enthusiastic leadership professional to manage our depot in Hobart.  

You will have a sense of urgency, be a natural people leader, with a customer focus and the ability to see the bigger picture, set objectives, and deliver results.  You will be an excellent communicator able to establish goals and then support your team to achieve them.

In this role you will manage daily commercial operations and the team, working on a diverse, modern, high-quality fleet and a well-equipped functional site. The facility is modern offering onsite parking and excellent facilities for our mechanics, drivers and administration team.

We are an essential services industry, offering stability to employees and reliability to our customers.

Experience leading a Transport or FMCG business incorporating drivers, workshop and service-orientation is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• The ability to plan for growth, engage with the team and see it through
• Deliver the overall depot strategy and continually drive improvement initiatives 
• Manage all functions across the site including transport/operations, workshop, sales and administration 
• Drive a high-level safety and customer service culture 
• Support and motivate the team
• Work well with other leaders within the business including sales, workshop, customer service and corporate head office 
• Ensure compliance with all policies, legal and regulatory requirements 

About you

• You are a people leader by nature and enjoy interacting with your team
• With the ability to prioritise and think laterally, you make things happen
• 5+ years experience in a Transport or FMCG business where you managed your own fleet and team of drivers - essential
• Be an approachable, authentic, supportive and empathetic leader
• Continuous improvement focused with the ability to deliver short and long term objectives
• KPI driven with the ability to perform under pressure
• HR license and HR driving experience - highly regarded 
• Able to successfully satisfy a pre-employment medical
