About the role
We are looking for a Depot Supervisor to join us in one of our coastal depot locations such as Jurien or Leeman to assist in overseeing some of our local depot activity. We are flexible on what the role might look like in terms of hours and location so if you have the skills mentioned below and are keen to join an industry-leading organisation please reach out to discuss your interest!
Some key information about the role is below:
We’re open year-round, serving our members up and down the coast.
- Due to varying catch levels the hours each week may vary but we are keen to engage someone on a full-time basis (38hrs per week)
- This role will be required to travel between several nearby depots to manage and oversee our casual staff and our operations.
Key Duties of the coastal depots include:
- Lobster logistics: checking weights, handling, and storage.
- Verifying quota deduction weights and correctly handling and storing of lobsters.
- Overseeing the dispatch of lobsters to the lives holding facilities in Geraldton and Fremantle
- Keeping records related to the receival of lobsters.
- Distribution of bait to fishermen.
- Basic maintenance of depot equipment (pumps/filters, freezers, scales, forklift)
- Managing stock levels of bait and for completing associated paperwork to ensure effective control of stock (lobsters, bait, stores) movements.
- Working with the Transport and Logistics Manager to ensure the facility is maintained in good working order.
Essential Skills
Our ideal candidate will have some experience managing a team and is able to effectively lead the team to safely deliver a service to our members. A keen eye for problem-solving, building relationships and continuous improvement will also be of benefit. Some additional credentials that will be desirable for the role include a HR licence, Forklift licence and training and experience using the Microsoft Office suite.
