POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Depot Worker.

POSITION TYPE: Casual.

LOCATION: NC Waste Management 116 Victoria Street North Geelong Victoria 3215.

REPORT TO: Managing Director.

MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide positive service to customers dropping off waste.  Collect payment by EFTPOS.
• Provide positive service to customers that deliver metals and record payment details including date, name, BSB, account numbers, weight and dollar amount(s) into the tax invoice book.
• Ensure the waste is safely sorted and placed into the correct bins.
• Operate forklift as required to safely move bins and other items.
• Operate excavator as required to safely sort, separate and load bins with the correct materials.
• Drive a truck safely to deliver waste bins to customers, pick up the bins when full, collect payment and return to the deport.
• Abide by Work Safe Victoria, legal laws, policies and procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace to Environment Protection Authority requirements.
• Other tasks as directed.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Preferred Qualifications:

• Heavy rigid truck license.
• Forklift license.
• Obtained accredited competency and experience with excavators.
• Fire Warden training.
• First aid certificate.

Preferred Experience:

• 2 years previous experience in a similar role/industry.
• Workplace organisation, safety in the workplace, organisation skills, high understanding of customer requirements.

Skills:

• Proactive and a self-starter.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Organised and able to meet deadlines.

• Complete tasks on time.
• Deal with customers and other employees professionally.
• Ensure the work area is always clean and presentable.
