JOB PURPOSE:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commercial Finance Manager to join our dynamic digital agency. As the Commercial Finance Manager for our Australian business, you will play a crucial role in partnering with the Commercial Director and Operations Director to drive financial performance and provide valuable insights to the business. Your primary responsibilities will include budgeting, forecasting, analyzing project performance, managing profitability drivers and controlling the company's cost base. Proficiency in Excel and experience in managing large data sets are essential for this role.
Communication skills should be excellent as articulating results and performance to the Group Team based in the EMEA is essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate closely with the Commercial Director and Operations Director to develop and execute financial strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives
- Prepare and maintain accurate budgets and forecasts, ensuring they are aligned with business plans and objectives
- Analyze project performance, identifying key drivers of profitability and providing insights to improve financial outcomes
- Monitor and control the cost base of the company, identifying areas for cost optimization and efficiency improvements
- Develop and maintain financial models, utilizing Excel and other tools to manage and analyze large data sets
- Provide regular financial reports and analysis to key stakeholders, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities
- Support the Commercial Director in pricing strategies and contract negotiations to maximize profitability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial considerations are integrated into decision-making processes
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to Commercial Finance management
- We require some flexibility in working hours given the Group team is based in EMEA. Being available a couple of evenings a week with the flexibility to take hours back elsewhere is essential for this role
The financial control of the entity will be done from the UK but knowledge of local compliance and regulatory requirements is necessary to be our eyes and ears on the ground. You will also team up with our People and Culture Depsters to ensure payroll accuracy and completeness.
SKILLS AND PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Commercial Finance Manager or similar role within the digital marketing industry
- Strong financial analysis and modelling skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel
- Experience in managing and analyzing large data sets to derive meaningful insights
- Excellent business partnering skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes (P&L, balance sheet and cashflow)
- Knowledge of project management principles and their financial implications.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
