The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) is the Australian Government agency responsible for supporting and investing in sport at all levels. The ASC’s role is to increase involvement in sport and enable continued international sporting success through leadership and development of a cohesive and effective sports sector, targeted financial support, and the operation of the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS).
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Chief of Staff (SES Band 1) within the Office of the CEO Group. Reporting to the Chief of Staff, this senior leadership position will play a key role in driving the ASC’s strategic policy agenda, guiding stakeholder engagement across the ASC and government sector.
About the team – The Office of the CEO Group maximises the ASC’s engagement across government and to key stakeholders through strategic leadership of media and communications, policy and legal counsel to ensure consistency and focus on priorities across the whole organisation. The Group also provides executive support and secretariat functions to the ASC Board of Commissioners.
About the role – Reporting to the Chief of Staff, the Deputy Chief of Staff will help drive the ASC’s strategic policy agenda and guide stakeholder engagement across the ASC. The role will also ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness within the Office of the CEO. The Deputy Chief of Staff will serve as a trusted adviser to the Chief of Staff and represent the Executive in delegated projects and initiatives designed to achieve the ASC’s priorities and objectives.
