ABOUT THE ROLE
The Deputy Director General People, Culture and Standards role forms an integral part of our Department’s leadership team.
Reporting to the Director General, this role is responsible for working collaboratively with the executive team to implement an enhanced governance and accountability framework.
This role also provides support and advice to Department leaders in responding to performance, risk management and misconduct matters.
ABOUT PEOPLE, CULTURE AND STANDARDS DIVISION
The People, Cultures and Standards Division works in partnership with all entities within the Department and beyond to instil a values-based culture.
The Division has a central role to play in auditing our services, promoting ethical conduct, investigating inappropriate or improper behaviour and in providing a safe environment to report unethical and inappropriate conduct across the Department.
It is also the custodian of the Department’s integrity framework which provides an integrated governance approach to protect the Department’s integrity, expose and prevent misconduct, corruption, fraud and theft. This is achieved through a robust audit program, by driving intelligence, developing strategic risk mitigation plans and by implementing best practice controls.
ABOUT YOU
Modelling exemplary leadership, values and behaviours, the successful candidate is a progressive leader who is highly motivated, energetic and possesses the qualities needed to bring people together and inspire confidence.
You must also possess:
- Strong experience in overseeing strategies that promote workplace integrity, enhance governance and accountability frameworks and support leaders at all levels to respond to performance, risk management and misconduct matters.
- Extensive knowledge and expertise of the public sector regulatory environment and accountability systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary practices in managing investigations and other misconduct risks.
- Accountability at an executive level for the performance and outcomes of multi-disciplinary teams.
All employees are required to undergo employment screening, which includes a National Criminal History Check and other checks that may be relevant to the position requirements.
