Deputy Food Services Manager (503379)

The role:

• Co-ordinate and assist with the management of the Launceston General Hospital Food Service Department, ensuring that the service operates in compliance with relevant standards and guidelines for infection control, food safety and cook chill food production processes.

• Provide support to the Manager Food Services and leadership, instruction and guidance to the Food Services team members to ensure the highest quality of food service is delivered to patients, visitors and staff.

The team:

• The LGH is Tasmania's second largest hospital and the major referral centre for Northern Tasmania
• The Food Services Department at the LGH is a cook-chill facility with about 150 staff members
• The Food Service department caters to around 350 hospital patients plus hospital staff, visitors and some external clients

Details of Appointment

Permanent day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight commencing as soon as possible

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

• Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary: $95,393 - $100,067 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

• Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

Eligibility:

1. A relevant qualification in management in a healthcare setting, or another large multidisciplinary setting and/or trades certificate is considered desirable.

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

1. Conviction checks in the following areas:

• crimes of violence
• sex related offences
• serious drug offences
• crimes involving dishonesty
