Your team
The Legal Services Team is responsible for the delivery of Legal Services across ASIC and is instrumental in driving ASIC's reputation as a modern and effective regulator and enforcement authority.
Legal Services is led by the General Counsel, Executive Director and comprises the following teams: Enforcement Legal Services, Regulatory Legal Services, Corporate Legal Services, the Hearing Delegates Panel, and the Legal Operations Team.
The Enforcement Legal Services Team comprises the Civil Litigation Team, Criminal Law Team, Administrative Law Team and the External Legal Services Team.
Enforcement Legal Services is expected to couple legal expertise with a contemporary approach to the delivery of Legal Services, including through the embrace of continual improvement, innovation, building efficient capability and the use of technology to optimise execution.
The role
As Deputy General Counsel, Enforcement Legal Services, you will lead the Legal Services team responsible for supporting ASIC's civil, criminal and administrative enforcement activities and contribute to the strategic direction and efficacy of ASIC's enforcement activities.
About you
We are looking for someone with the capacity to lead senior and experienced teams of lawyers across a diversity of areas, particularly litigation.
You'll need legal experience at General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel or equivalent role in a government agency or private sector organisation, along with experience in strategic management of major regulatory litigation whether directly or through management of a team.
Your strong management, leadership, interpersonal and relationship building skills will ensure your success in this role.
