Job description

Victoria Point State High School are seeking applications for an exceptional Deputy Principal to join their leadership team on a full-time temporary basis, until 13 December 2024, unless otherwise determined.

This role will be responsible for cohort management and inclusion portfolio.

About the Role

The Deputy Principal as part of the Executive Team will be required to provide instructional leadership capability around the Australian Curriculum and support teachers to provide evidence informed pedagogies enabling every student to realise their full potential. The successful applicant will be required to have a skillset to lead a positive school culture working in with a team as the role entails cohort management of Year 10 and responsibility for VPSHS Inclusion agenda.

The successful candidate will have the ability to lead a strong teaching and learning agenda, have exemplary interpersonal skills, instructional leadership practices and have the ability to lead and support the school's explicit improvement agenda. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the implementation of the departments Inclusive Education policy will assist the successful candidate in the role.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Deputise for the Principal when required.
  • Uphold the Deputy Principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
