Amentum has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Deputy Support Services Centre (SSC) Manager to join their team in Alice Springs, NT - Australia.

THE ROLE

PURPOSE AND SCOPE

The Service Support Centre (SSC) Deputy Manager has shared responsibility for all Support Services and Asset Management activities delivered by the Oasis program.

The SSC Deputy Manager is responsible for providing support to the SSC Manager in relation to organizational performance, administrative management, financial oversight and budget, procedural review and development, staffing and operational matters directly relating to the SSC team.

The SSC Deputy Manager supports a team of employees with diverse occupational skills who provide services within the following areas:

  • Customer service, site room and accommodation bookings
  • Work scheduling
  • Workforce capacity planning
  • Life-cycle maintenance, management and recapitalization.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities/Duties

  • In conjunction with the SSC Manager provide leadership, strategic direction and management oversight for the Service Support Centre team.
  • Foster and develop a positive working environment with respectful and collaborative business relationships within the SSC team and with other key stakeholders.
  • Support the SSC Manager to develop the team’s competencies and capability to provide integrated asset management and ensure specific customer objectives are achieved.
  • Collect, analyze and interpret metrics for the SSC group and effectively communicate and report performance to key stakeholders.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Develop, interpret, execute and recommend modifications to organization policies and support the SSC Manager in the implementation of Functional area specific policies.
  • Effectively manage human and financial resources to ensure SSC service delivery standards, budget, performance and schedules are achieved.
  • Maintain health and safety within the workplace by promoting safety awareness initiatives, discussions and trainings, encouraging a safety focused culture and participating and reviewing risk assessments for those under their supervision.
  • Any other reasonable duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Essential

  • Undergraduate Degree Field: Asset Management, Planning and Scheduling or another relevant field; or
  • Equivalent years demonstrated experience

Desirable

  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment 
  • Certificate IV in Project Management or PMP

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS – Minimum Essential

Minimum Essential

  • 5 years’ experience managing projects of similar size, scope and complexity.
  • 2 consecutive years’ of supervisory experience in support centre and/or asset management field
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply process improvement models.
  • Providing high quality customer service and managing help desk and work order management systems.
  • Proven experience delivering multiple, successful project outcomes, on time and within budget.
  • Proven experience of a high level of proficiency with SAP (or other like enterprise software) and Microsoft Office Suite.

WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL DEMANDS, AND MENTAL DEMANDS

  • Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 10kgs, kneeling, standing and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, and must be able to work under deadlines.

STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Able to fluently read, write and speak English
  • Australian or US citizen

EHS REQUIREMENT

All Amentum personnel are responsible for understanding and complying with all site environmental, health and safety requirements. While Amentum is responsible for providing a safe workplace and is responsible for ensuring compliance with requirements of the Handbook, each person is responsible for:

  • Completing work tasks in a safe manner
  • Reporting any unsafe acts or conditions to their supervisor and/or PMO/EHS Manager
  • Continuous adherence to the environmental, health and safety procedures outlined in the Handbook during the performance of their work
  • Red-Carding a Job - Employee right and responsibility to “STOP WORK” if a job is unsafe or possess a danger to the environment
