To achieve this, we are transforming to a continuous testing model and uplifting the full product lifecycle, supporting capabilities, people, and technology. As a Staff Quality Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in this transformation.

We are responsible for the world-leading application of technology and operations across every aspect of CommBank and Bankwest Retail - from innovative product platforms for our customers, to essential tools within our business. As part of Retail Technology, we also use technology to drive simplicity and better banking, an essential component of great customer service underpinning a strong emphasis on software development as a craft and the adoption of industry best engineering practices.

Here, you’ll be part of one of the crew under Customer Engagement and Digital, building and delivering features for Australia’s best banking app, CommBank App.

We’re interested in hearing from people who:

• Have solid hands-on experience developing and executing test plans and test cases whilst identifying and reporting defects in software applications

• Are constantly collaborating with developers to resolve bugs and issues including providing feedback on product quality and usability

• Are confident conducting manual and automated testing of software products including analysing test results to identify patterns and trends

• Are knowledgeable participating in product design and requirement reviews

• Pride themselves in ensuring that software products meet quality standards and user requirements

• Are constantly contributing to continuous improvement of the software development

• Pride themselves on serving as quality coach in promoting a culture of quality within a team

• Are driving proof of concept (PoC) on new technologies and tooling

Tech skills

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;

• Web services, REST/SOAP/XML and API/Service based testing using tools such as RestAssured, Pact or Blazemeter. 

• Selenium, Specflow, JMeter, TestNG, Junit, Cucumber

• GitHub, Stash, Github Actions
