As a Design Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Design Manager and talented team. We're seeking a candidate who is not only creative but also stays updated with the latest fashion trends. Technical design skills and previous experience in the fashion industry are highly valued, but your creativity, attitude and drive are our priority.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to our already hugely successful department to assist in bringing together commercially, on-trend designs for high street fashion apparel that excite the customers of Princess Polly.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Design Manager and designers to assist in day-to-day team activities and projects.
- Support in the development and execution of styles across all apparel categories, attending fittings and supporting both designers and product developers.
- Participate in trend research, staying informed about the latest industry developments and incorporating relevant insights into design work.
- Contribute to the design process from concept to final range, ensuring a cohesive and on-brand aesthetic.
- Completing monthly SWAT analysis, reviewing runway and attending local inspo trips to support in keeping our products fresh.
- Assist in the preparation and organisation of design-related meetings, sample management and trade presentations.
- Handle administrative tasks, such as organising design files, maintaining design archives, and tracking project timelines.
About you:
- Bachelor's degree in design or related field, ideally you have some exposure to the fashion industry in a similar role.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and other design software.
