About the Role:
As a pivotal member of our team, you will be responsible for:
- Technical Design / Drafting: Creating and manipulating detailed 3D models and 2D layout drawings of bulk handling trailers utilising Autodesk Inventor, ensuring precision and adherence to design specifications.
- Revision Management: Implementing revisions to existing drawings and models, striving for continuous improvement and utilising Autodesk Vault for efficient documentation management.
- Collaboration: Working closely with Production Staff during trailer builds, providing technical guidance and support to ensure seamless project progression.
- Bill of Materials (BOMs): Developing comprehensive BOMs derived from drawings to facilitate production needs and procurement processes.
- Schedule Coordination: Assisting with Engineering and Production schedules to maintain workflow efficiency and meet project deadlines.
Qualifications and Skills:
We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications and skills:
- Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Design or related field.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault.
- Experience in 3D design of large assemblies, including parametric modelling and iLogic.
- Strong drafting skills with a focus on fabrication and mechanical components.
- Familiarity with metal processing methods such as welding, machining, and CNC operations.
- Previous experience in coach building or automotive industries is advantageous.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.
