About the Role
This is a highly rewarding but challenging role located in North Lakes, Qld within the busy National Design & Drafting Team. It is a 6-12month fixed term contract, minimum 3 days per week with potential for ongoing.
Reporting to the Design Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Assist with conversion of existing drawings from AutoCAD to Advance Steel manufacturing/shop drawings.
- Assist in establishing new and standardized drafting processes.
- Assist team members with queries and provide technical support.
- Consult closely with internal production team members ensuring all drawings align with workflow and machinery needs.
The successful candidate will have:
- Formal qualifications in Architectural or Structural Drafting (Diploma or higher - preferred).
- Drafting experience within the building or manufacturing industry.
- High proficiency in Autodesk Advance Steel: ability to expertly navigate this powerful tool to create detailed Structural Designs with efficiency and accuracy is essential.
- Experience in commercial/industrial documentation and design is desirable.
- A strong understanding of residential construction and the construction process.
- Exposure and competent use of the NCC and relevant Australian Standard for Class 10 structures.
- The ability to communicate professionally, prioritise and meet deadlines.
- A high level of attention to detail and a proactive approach to all tasks undertaken.
