We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer with a strong background in formwork, scaffold, jumpforms, and Climbing Systems. A good understanding and background in high strutting shoring, falsework, formwork, and single sided walls is required. Knowledge of the following systems is preferred: conventional Pafili & LVL formwork, Ischebeck Titan & HV, Peri Rosett / SB / Trio / Maximo, and Kwikstage. Experience in specialised formwork systems such as jumpforms, perimeter protection screens, formwork hoists and Climbing Systems would be an advantage. Experience in civil, infrastructure and/or high-rise construction sectors will be advantageous.
You will have the opportunity to work on some of the biggest construction projects currently taking place in Sydney and Southeast Queensland.
About the Role:
This is a full-time position based in our Sydney offices which will see you to work closely with our project teams on current and upcoming projects. The Design Engineer will be responsible for managing design in the formwork, scaffold, and Climbing Systems processes on large-scale Tier 1 commercial, infrastructure, and civil projects. An ability to both design and draft is required. Good communication skills and the ability to work confidently with project teams and clients are essential. We are looking for someone with a positive proactive approach and a sound understanding of the build sequence on site.
Skills and Experience:
- Formal civil or structural engineering qualifications.
- Previous formwork design experience (5 years minimum).
- Preference will be given to CPEng and RPEQ holders.
- Specialised formwork system experience with Peri, Ischebeck or other large scale formwork suppliers an advantage.
- Jumpform, perimeter protection screens and Climbing Systems experience favoured.
- Ability and desire to work on large scale projects and complex structures.
- Strong ability to work autonomously, independently and with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with clients and in-house teams.
- Provide support to management and other team members.
- Must have a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Ability to work to tight schedules and deadlines.
- Experience with software packages including AutoCAD is required. Knowledge and experience with PeriCAD, Peri Force Control, and SpaceGASS would be an advantage.
