About the role
· Manage delivery of design documentation from external consultants.
· Manage the interface between the external Engineers and Architects.
· Review consultants designs for code compliance and constructability ensuring in accordance with UGL?s construction methods.
· Review schemes to find value engineering opportunities to minimise construction costs and/or program.
· Prepare, manage and review tenders for various subcontracts.
· Provide technical solutions requested by the construction team to manage any design change to suit site conditions and constructability issues.
· Involvement and support of all UGL HSSE requirements including participation in proactive safety measures and HSSE improvement plan initiatives.
About You
· 8+ years as a Senior design engineer or similar role, working with a developer or a builder on accommodation villages or other similar developments.
· Proven Experience (from concept to completion), as design engineer with full understanding of local construction methodologies throughout all areas of residential development.
· Have a strong understanding of Building Codes, utilities requirements and building services to be implemented in residential buildings.
· Preferable to have knowledge of structures - in particular modular construction.
· Capable of working in a team environment and problem solving.
· Tertiary qualification in engineering and/or Project Management qualification preferably AIPM Diploma level or above.
· Experience in MS Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent scheduling software.
· Experience in use of digital engineering platforms and BIM.
· Excellent leadership skills including project management skills, communication skills at all levels, horizontal and vertical negotiating skills and networking skills.
· Australian driver?s license.
