Part time (0.7 FTE), Ongoing Position
Salary: $78,564 - $111,391 p.a pro-rata part time, (dependent on qualifications & experience) plus superannuation
Location: Frankston

ABOUT THE ROLEThe Design Teacher will teach across multi-disciplines of Design, this may include (but is not limited to) related visual arts units, such as Illustration and Photography.
The position will provide professional teaching and vocational expertise, across all aspects of teaching delivery to ensure excellent outcomes for learners, the organisations that employ them and the communities they serve.
This position focuses on excellence in learner support, teaching delivery and learning assessment, resource development and educational administration. The incumbent is a key and active participant of the Art and Design Business Area and works to promote educational excellence, business growth and student centred services for the Art and Design team. Your key accountabilities will be to:
Plan education practices and delivery sessions that reflect the most effective way to engage learners
Develop and deliver planned teaching sessions in a variety of innovative and adaptive ways, using technology, including Moodle, to engage learners and meet their needs and learning styles including assessing student work
Design and develop high quality teaching and learning resources including tailored materials in a range of formats to suit varying learning styles
Ensure that teaching materials and resources meet all regulatory standards, training packages and related requirements
Improve the quality of teaching and learning through a student based approach and adaptive curriculum
Work with learners to improve their employability and life skills
Work collaboratively with industry to align current and emerging industry needs and facilitate relevant and responsive delivery models that engage learners
Ensure high quality, up to date and relevant teaching delivery, assessment and student engagement strategies to support learner success and contribute to the achievement of Chisholm shared goals
Maintain professional development to ensure industry and educational currency and excellence
ABOUT YOUYou will bring the following qualifications, skills and experience with you:
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or qualifications that meet the RTO Standards
Vocational qualifications at a minimum AQF level 5 such as, Diploma of Graphic Design
Vocational currency as demonstrated through a range of work and related experience
A record of Vocational Competency, mapped to Units of Competency engaged to deliver
A record of Professional Currency, demonstrating current industry and teaching knowledge
Crucial to your success will be your strong proficiencies in Graphic Design practices, which could include but are not limited to knowledge of Design History and Theory, Typography, 2D and 3D design, AI integration in Design programs, Illustration skills, Photography skills. You will have extensive experience in own and/or Design Studio practice and strong proficiencies in Adobe CC, must have proven expertise in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop as a minimum together with contemporary Graphic Design practice and Industry knowledge.
In addition to this you will enjoy working collaboratively within a diverse team, be highly motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
