Job Description:Downer Rollingstock Services has an exciting opportunity to join our business and contribute to an exciting new Projects. Downer Rollingstock Services (RSS) is committed to providing the highest quality of Rolling Stock & Overhaul services, for both the local QLD and greater Australian markets.We are currently seeking a Mechanical CAD Designer to permanently join our Rollingstock team, this position would be preferably based in North Ryde, Sydney however we do have site's in Maryborough QLD, Cardiff NSW and Milton, NSW.Responsibilities:The Mechanical CAD Designer will work within a team environment to produce quality mechanical design and drawings, on time and within project timescales along with application of engineering, design and maintenance knowledge and principles for the modification and overhaul of passenger and freight rolling stock. You will be responsible for the preparation and production of high-quality technical 3D model and drawings derived from existing NX models, AutoCAD and other modelling software systems and reverse engineering of product that will be critical to the successful delivery of rolling stock projects across the facility.Qualifications:You will have:Proven experience in a Mechanical CAD Design based roleStrong knowledge of Unigraphics NX or Dassault Catia, Solid works and/or AutoCAD InventorStrong knowledge of Siemen's Team CentreHigh analytical and problem-solving ability with a history of pragmatic solution-based designs.Strong understanding of safety and its role in the design and the workplace.Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to explain complex design components to all levels of the business.Highly developed knowledge of problem-solving procedures and methods in relation to engineering design and change management processesDesign experience in Rolling Stock or related industry highly regarded.You will become a subject matter expert and be work in collaboration with others in our organisation and take pride in the achievements of the team.
