AddressBeyond Blue is an Australian mental health and wellbeing support organisation. It provides support programs to address issues related to depression, suicide, anxiety disorders and other related mental illnesses. Beyond Blue's Strategy 2023+ focuses on prevention and early intervention for the next five years.
Early Intervention (EI)
Beyond Blue has developed an evidence-based early intervention mental health program using trained non-clinical coaches with industry experience. These live programs connect participants with a coach using low-intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) techniques delivered through one-on-one sessions (F2F or TeleHealth). Beyond Blue's specific early intervention program is a low-intensity CBT program with no referral requirements.
Seven out of ten participants make a full recovery with no further support or treatment required.
BB has piloted and administered the New Access Community program for over ten years. The new, digitally enabled EI@Work service will provide a foundation digital product to be replicated across the Community and Small Business service streams.

BB is consciously taking a low-code, platform-first approach and will leverage the capabilities of its tech stack: Salesforce CRM, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Sitecore Experience Platform, Azure (identity), Databricks, and Meddbase (practice management software).
The Role
The Technology Developer Analyst will be critical in developing and maintaining software solutions and supporting citizen developers in utilising low-code platforms to address business needs. This position offers the opportunity to work independently on projects while also contributing to the growth and innovation of the organisation's technology ecosystem.
The Developer Analyst will design, develop, and maintain software solutions to meet Beyond Blue's needs.
Citizen developers are individuals within the organisation who create or customise software applications for their own use or their teams, departments, or business units without formal training or background in traditional software development. They typically leverage low-code or no-code development platforms, which provide intuitive interfaces and pre-built components to simplify the application development process.
Key Tasks
Software Development
- Design, code, test, debug, and document software applications according to specifications and standards.
- Develop and maintain scalable, reliable software solutions to support business operations and processes.
- Utilise programming languages and development tools effectively to deliver efficient and maintainable code.
- Provide guidance and support to citizen developers using low-code platforms to build applications.
- Assist in designing and implementing low-code solutions, ensuring alignment with business requirements and best practices.
- Offer training and resources to empower citizen developers to leverage low-code platforms effectively.
- Analyse business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and system designs.
- Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments to evaluate potential solutions and identify the most appropriate approach.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather feedback and refine requirements throughout the development lifecycle.
- Perform thorough testing of software applications to ensure functionality, performance, and security standards are met.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks and implement effective solutions.
- Conduct code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance software quality and reliability.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, user manuals, and release notes.
- Provide training and knowledge transfer to internal teams and end-users to facilitate the successful adoption and utilisation of software solutions.
- 3-4 years experience with web development and solid 'plain' Javascript.
- Experience working as a sole developer on projects, demonstrating the ability to manage tasks independently and deliver results within deadlines.
- Familiarity with low-code platforms and a willingness to support citizen developers in utilising these tools. Mendix or OutSystems is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effectively translating business requirements into technical solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
