Your Role:

At Vinnies (NSW) we are reshaping our property team to deliver on our strategic goals, and to deliver growth in our mission and good works. We have created four new lead roles in the property team to facilitate these objectives - one of these new roles is Senior Development and Capital Works Manager.

As the Senior Development and Capital Works Manager, you will lead the delivery of Capital Works state-wide across a property portfolio that includes retail, industrial, office and residential accommodation, supported by an in-house team and external service providers. It is an opportunity to show case your capability in leadership, collaborative working, delivering to strategic initiatives, business acumen and innovation in service delivery.

Your Responsibility:

  • Lead and oversee Capital Works projects from inception to completion, including project scoping, planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Collaborate closely with internal clients and external service providers to define project objectives, requirements and deliverables.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and regularly monitor and adjust project schedules and resources to meet project milestones and objectives.
  • Coordinate procurement activities and services required for project implementation.
  • Conduct risk assessments for each project, identify potential risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Manage construction works, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety protocols, environmental regulations, while minimising impact on ongoing operational requirements.
  • Monitor project budgets, and implement corrective actions to control project costs.
  • Provide regular progress updates and reports to management and key stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

You Will Need:

  • Proven work experience in Capital Works delivery in similar environment.
  • A thorough understanding of property legislations and compliance.
  • Negotiation skills with excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Ability to negotiate and undertake procurement with contractors, and establish contracts.
  • Experience in managing teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Personal commitment and drive to ensure a continuous programme of best practice, innovation, business optimisation, and industry leadership.
  • Tertiary qualification in property management or related field will be highly regarded.
