The City of Cockburn is seeking a Building and Planning Development Compliance Officer for its Development and Compliance Unit.
The Position
Development Compliance is a dynamic investigation team with a purpose to ensure a safe, enjoyable and compliant Cockburn community. You can be assured there is never a dull moment with the wide variety of development and building work going on in the vibrant City of Cockburn.
Being effective in communicating and negotiating are the key skills you’ll need in this role. You’ll be interpreting and applying legislation, collecting evidence and preparing for prosecutions so previous experience as an investigator could be useful, but its not essential. Working safely is essential, as is excellent report writing skills, being a great manager of yourself and your time plus having a keen attention to detail.
Previous trade skills in town planning, builder, building surveyor or something in a related field or even a keen interest in planning, building and environment health will all be looked on favorably.
Planning Compliance Officers or Building Compliance Officers looking to further their experience and career are encouraged to apply.

Hours: 76 hours per fortnight (fulltime 9-day fortnight)
Salary: $86,857 - $100,922 per annum, dependent on skills and experience.
