Salary: $85,501 - $113,228 p.a. plus 11% SuperPermanent/Full TimeLeaseback Vehicle and Civil Liabilities AllowanceAbout the roleThis is a permanent, full-time, Monday to Friday 8.00 am to 4.00 pm position working 35 hours per week. This position is located at the Nowra Administration Building.The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position.DutiesReporting directly to the Lead – Development Engineering, the focus of this position is to:Process engineering plans covering roads, stormwater drainage systems, stormwater pollution controls, water sensitive urban design, cycle ways, major culverts/bridges, traffic facilities in conjunction with Council’s Traffic Committee.Supervises and supports a Team within Council to enable Council to function at an optimal level.Exhibits leadership behaviours by showing initiative, taking responsibility for self and group actions, and referring issues of ethics and probity.Supports continuous improvement by identifying improvements to processes and practices and supporting change.Approaches problem solving by analysing information from various sources.Reports to the Development Engineering Coordinator on areas of functional responsibility making professional recommendations for the Unit Manager’s consideration.Prioritises workloads for the Unit that support the Community Strategic Plan and aligns operational activities accordingly.Impacts on the external image and perception of Council with regards to customer service and possession of relevant technical knowledge.Process engineering plans covering roads, stormwater drainage systems, stormwater pollution controls, water sensitive urban design, cycle ways, major culverts/bridges, traffic facilities in conjunction with Council’s Traffic Committee.Skills & ExperienceTo be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:Grade 10 – Band 2/Level 3Grade 11 – Band 3/Level 2 Grade 12 – Band 3/Level 2Diploma in Civil Engineering, Surveying or equivalentANDA minimum of 2 years engineering experienceDiploma in Surveying, Civil Engineering or equivalentORMinimum 2 years completed of a Bachelor of Engineering (or equivalent)ANDA minimum of 4 years engineering experienceBachelor of Engineering (Civil) eligible for membership of the Institute of Engineers, Australia.ANDA minimum of 5 years engineering experienceThis is a grade range position, therefore in accordance with qualifications, accreditation, experience and demonstrated skills, the prospective employee will be assessed as either Grade 10, 11, and 12.Grade 10 – Salary: $85,501 – $98,211 p.a. plus 11% SuperGrade 11 – Salary: $93,592 – $106,297 p.a. plus 11% SuperGrade 12 – Salary: $99,364 – $113,228 p.a. plus 11% SuperAbout Shoalhaven City CouncilShoalhaven City Council is a dynamic organisation serving a large and diverse community; limitless opportunity exists for an exciting and rewarding career.
