About the role
Are you ready to revolutionize the world of API Security? Origin Energy is seeking a dynamic DevOps Engineer to join our team and dive into the forefront of emerging API Security technologies. In this thrilling 6-month contracting position, collaborating with various business units and technical teams, implementing cutting-edge API Security best practices and controls that will shape the future of Origin Energy's security landscape.
Why the role matters
As a pivotal member of our API Security project team, you'll assess our current security maturity, identify gaps, and spearhead transformative improvements across people, process, and technology. Your role matters because you'll be instrumental in crafting and applying a robust API security framework that sets the gold standard in the industry. Your responsibilities will include:
- Act as a technical API security guru, guiding stakeholders towards best practices and standards.
- Contribute to the implementation and enhancement of security functions across our AWS and private cloud platforms.
- Help develop an enterprise environment that fortifies Origin Energy's APIs, shaping the future of API security policy frameworks.
- Collaborate with vendors, product owners, and developers to seamlessly integrate API security tools across the organisation.
What will you bring?
Your passion for cutting-edge technologies and meticulous attention to detail will set you apart. With a strong background in IT and hands-on experience in application security and DevSecOps, you'll be a natural communicator, effortlessly bridging the gap between technical complexities and business objectives. You will also demonstrate:
- Expertise in AWS and API security-related infrastructure, with a knack for configuring security monitoring tools.
- A deep understanding of application security risks and the ability to implement secure development practices.
- Proficiency in networks, cloud technologies, and modern application landscapes.
Desirable expertise in building and consulting across API security services and solutions, along with an understanding of Agile & DevOps methodologies.
