Role Description
The department is seeking DevOps/SysOps Engineers to work on assisting in the delivery of key projects in the Take Farmers to Market program. This role will contribute to the Export Certificate Modernisation project which is key to improving agriculture export capability across industry.
The successful applicant will be required to:
- Define, develop and document the existing automation technologies to enhance the system’s build, test and deployment capabilities;
- Assist the application development teams with the development and maintenance of DevOps continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) pipelines;
- Perform system administration functions including platform, middleware & software installation & configuration, network configuration, logging and observability configuration, troubleshooting, root cause analysis & issue resolution, application deployment monitoring, and alerting;
- Identify and support the implementation of further opportunities for automation within the product development process to improve and streamline service delivery;
- Maintain visibility of version control between production systems and planned deployments;
- Maintain visibility of changes across multiple environments and communicate issues to relevant stakeholders; and
- Communicate effectively and explain complex issues and concepts to stakeholders and IT management and/or senior business stakeholders with various levels of technical proficiency.
Selection Criteria:
- Extensive experience in developing automated deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps and scripting tools like PowerShell.
- Experience in administering applications in one or more of Java, Microsoft.net, Oracle-Deployed applications (WebLogic, Oracle Service Bus, Oracle Database, Access Manager etc).
- Experience in performing system administration functions for enterprise applications, platforms, or COTS products. This includes configuration, installation, configuration, performance tuning of Oracle platforms and server administration tasks such as configuration, monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge and experience in configuring, monitoring, and optimising services for the Microsoft Azure platform.
- Relevant certifications for azure platforms, oracle systems and server administration.
- Experience with, or knowledge of, system monitoring, container management and orchestration tools.
