ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Dewatering Technician, your primary responsibility is managing the dewatering systems, which are crucial for maintaining dry and safe conditions at underground operations. 

This involves setting up, operating, and maintaining pumps and water treatment systems across multiple sites (Bullant, Enterprise, and Tuart). Your role ensures that construction and remediation activities proceed without interruption, adhering to strict safety and environmental standards.

KEY DUTIES AND TASKS

  • Install and operate dewatering systems, including pumps, wells, and associated piping.
  • Monitor the performance of dewatering equipment and adjust optimise efficiency.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on dewatering equipment to ensure it functions safely and effectively.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to the dewatering process and implement solutions promptly.
  • Record and maintain accurate logs of equipment performance, maintenance activities, and site conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental laws and regulations related to water discharge.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Service and Operation team members to ensure that project timelines and safety guidelines are followed.

You will participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions to stay updated on industry standards and practices, ensuring your confidence and security in your role.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Underground Manager.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in a similar role involving dewatering, water management, or related fields.
  • Practical experience with dewatering equipment, including installation, operation, and maintenance of pumps and wells.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems, pumping mechanisms, and basic electrical systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Effective communication with team members and superiors to report on project status and any issues.
  • Current unencumbered C/HR WA Drivers Licence (Essential for travelling between multiple sites)
