About us
The Sydney Electorate Office is located in Darlinghurst and is the point of contact for constituents and local community groups with Alex Greenwich, the Independent member for Sydney, regarding State Government services and responsibilities.
About the position
Mr Greenwich is seeking a part-time Electorate Officer to provide high quality diary management and administrative support. The job will cover three days per week (Monday, Thursdays and Fridays), based in Oxford Street, Darlinghurst.
The role involves managing a large quantity of correspondence from constituents, stakeholders, and government agencies over email, phone, social media, mail, and in-person requests, regarding meeting requests, event organisation, and event attendance. The role will also involve proactively contacting ministerial offices, non-government organisations such as Union, and constituent groups to seek meetings or site visits, as well as other administrative and record keeping tasks.
Applicants will need strong communication skills and expert level proficiency with Outlook, Word, Nation-Builder and Excel. Experience responding to a high volume of correspondence in a timely and high quality manner within approved processes is required. Given the high quantity, complexity and diversity of requests, experience in social/welfare work, hospitality, diary management, government or non-government organisations and/or and customer service is necessary.
This role is not a political campaigning role and is solely focussed on supporting the needs of constituents and stakeholders in a timely and efficient manner in line with Mr Greenwich’s work in NSW Parliament and the Sydney electorate, including supporting a large number of requests relating to social housing, transport, strata and social justice matters.
The job is part of a small and close-knit team and requires an individual who is self-motivated and can work autonomously.
