Requisition ID: REQ477519Location: Sydney & WollongongApplication close: 28 April 2024 - 11:59pmAbout the opportunityOur Forensic Medicine service conducts post-mortem examinations at the direction of the NSW Coroner to help investigate unexplained or unexpected deaths in NSW. We are a state-wide organisation with facilities in Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong. Our state-wide administration team is an important pillar of Forensic Medicine’s multidisciplinary workforce. We provide crucial support to forensic pathologists and other clinical teams at all stages of the process, fulfilling core administration functions including reception, triage, assisting with post-mortem reporting and the general administration to help the department run.We are looking for candidates to fill future temporary and permanent full time, part time, and casual Forensic Administration Officer positions. This recruitment is to create an eligibility list only, the eligibility list will be used to fill any future upcoming positions which will be located at our Sydney/ Wollongong facilities.What we can offer you

What you’ll be doingProvide an effective administration support service to multidisciplinary staff within Forensic Medicine, customers and external stakeholders.Interested in joining Australia’s largest public pathology service? Apply now by addressing the following questions: * Demonstrated experience in providing administrative support in a complex and challenging work environment, including demonstrated strong attention to detail and accuracy of work
  • Well-developed computer skills and system knowledge, including proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Sharepoint, Microsoft Teams and Adobe document suite) to complete work activities.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, including ability to accurately transfer information in a timely manner, and ability to handle distressed customers/clients, knowing when to escalate matters appropriately.
  • Strong ability to effectively work independently as well as collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Proven organisational and time management skills, with capacity to prioritise workload, and manage competing deadlines.
  • Ability to operate effectively in an environment that could be distressing, ensuring to raise any associated concerns and/or need for support, and adopt self-care strategies.
  • Demonstrated capacity to adopt and model the NSW Health Pathology RITE values of Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence.
