This position is residential in Mount Isa and requires you to work a 7 on / 7 off, day and night shift roster, providing grounds for an excellent work-life balance.Mount Isa

We are looking for an experienced, results-focused and ambitious individual to join us in a role of a Diesel Fitter with the Mobile Fleet team at George Fisher Mine. Reporting to the Mobile Fleet Supervisor, you will have the ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently, working in a dynamic and challenging environment with a high focus on planned maintenance. The ideal person will be required to participate in all aspects of fleet maintenance. Including; routine maintenance, corrective repairs and breakdowns.The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Performing heavy fleet maintenance work, as well as breakdown repairs;
- Undertaking planned maintenance tasks as instructed;
- Project work as required;
- Working both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary trade team;
- Demonstrating a high standard of professional workmanship;
- Planned maintenance activities on assets such as Sandvik, Caterpillar, Volvo and Normet;
- Contributing to continuous improvement opportunities;
- Maintaining and improving OH&S and overall operational standards in the workplace;
- Mentoring apprentices.
- Trade qualified Diesel Fitter;
- High risk work licence, Working at Heights and Confined Space, forklift licence, overhead gantry crane;
- Mining experience preferred but not essential;
- Excellent trouble-shooting & problem solving skills;
- Flexible approach and adaptable to change with a high attention to detail;
- Good time management skills and able to work well under pressure;
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment;
- Good communication skills;
- Willingness and ability to learn new processes;
- Hold a current Australian Manual Drivers Licence;
- Experience in SAP would be an advantage or similar system;
- Experience in Excel would be an advantage.
