The responsibilities
You will report to the Fleet and Facilities Manager and be based at our Hamilton Depot.
- Perform trades-based and associated maintenance work on our Bus fleet in an efficient and cost effective manner to meet business and depot requirements in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Provide maintenance of and repairs to all vehicle mechanical and electrical systems including drive, and drive-line, steering, suspension, braking, air, hydraulic, computerised and other associated systems.
- Operate a range of equipment and tools in order to undertake vehicle maintenance such as, testing, diagnostic computers/tools, multimeters, mig, oxy acetylene welding, lifting and materials handling, materials manufacturing, various hand tools and the like.
- Provide all mechanical and associated repairs, service and maintenance to vehicles as required. Work on associated components and systems to complete whole tasks within the skill level and/or training of the position.
You will also have opportunity to share your knowledge and experience with our apprentices.
Your Skills and Experience
- Trade qualifications as a Heavy VehicleDiesel Mechanic- though if you have a trade qualification in Light Vehicle, consideration for upgrading
- Hold or have the ability to obtain a Medium Rigid (MR), or Heavy Rigid (HR) License.
