Job Description: We are currently seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a suitable Certified Trade Qualification or relevant experience, along with at least two years of relevant work experience. As a Diesel Mechanic at
A&J Diesel Services, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct service, repairs, diagnosing, and maintenance on heavy vehicles, cars, trailers, plant machinery, and light vehicles as scheduled.
2. Keep company records of service and repairs up to date and ensure completion of job cards and service sheets.
3. Ensure all maintenance and repairs performed adhere to safety regulations and company standards, maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
4. Manage workshop operations, including the planning of jobs, ordering required parts, utilization of existing parts, and completion of service records and documentation.
5. Assist with hydraulic service and repairs as needed.
6. Competently perform fault finding and complete repairs to factory standards.
7. Assist with Diesel Mechanic apprentice training and adhere to site safety protocols.
8. Work in a team environment and independently as required, with a positive approach to work and a willingness to learn new skills.
Occupation Tasks:
• Conducting scheduled and unscheduled services on vehicles, plant, and equipment.
• Performing breakdown repairs on vehicles, plant, and equipment.
• Completing component change-outs as necessary.
• Adhering to site safety protocols and maintaining a safe working environment
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Suitable certification or relevant experience.
2. Minimum of two years' experience in a similar environment.
3. Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components and systems.
Proficiency in IT systems and diagnostic tools.
4. Relevant trade license, heavy rigid driver's license preferred, forklift license helpful.
5. Experience working on mobile plant or construction-type equipment.
6. Advantageous if you have experience working on a mine site.
7. Competent in fault finding and completing repairs to factory standards.
8. Experience with hydraulic service and repairs.
9. Strong understanding of safety protocols and site safety procedures.

4. Valid driver's license and clean driving record (preferred).
