Job description

This position qualifies for a Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (pro-rata part-time/temporary positions less than 18 months), and a reoccurring Annual Retention Bonus valued up to $10,000 (pro-rata part time), under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.

This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.

To recognise ongoing service in this role, once the successful candidate has served a qualifying period, they will become entitled to a reoccurring Annual Retention Bonus valued up to $10,000 (as taxable income).

What you'll be doing
  • To provide quality Dietetic Outpatients and Inpatients services to the Broken Hill Health Service and surrounding areas.
  • Based in the Broken Hill Hospital, provide evidenced based dietary intervention in a therapeutic setting.
  • Participate in all areas of assessment and treatment relevant to level of training and experience.
  • Gain invaluable hospital experience in a rural setting, supported by the Dietetics Team Leader.

How to Apply

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Dietetics with eligibility for Accredited Practising Dietitian status with the Dietitians' Australia.
  • Demonstrated application of professional and ethical boundaries to the delivery of patient care in the context of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated application of evidence based practice and critical thinking to advocate for and implement individualised person centred care patient care.
  • Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise.
  • Demonstrated commitment to work and partner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait, Islander patients and families and employees to enhance health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
  • Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills, and willingness to apply and share professional expertise with colleagues.
  • Evidence of sound knowledge in Primary Health Care Models with experience working in nutrition and dietetics including health promotion, and ability to apply current evidence based practice.
  • Ability to provide programs and interventions for people experiencing eating disorders.
