An exciting opportunity for an experienced Digital Content Specialist has become available with a Local Government department located in Ipswich.
The Digital Content Officer plays a supporting role in developing and delivering content that improves the profile and reputation via traditional, new and emerging media to a broad Ipswich audience (both internal and external).
Key responsibilities of this role include;
- Identify stories worthy of mass-audience consumption, and use the latest technology and storytelling techniques, including video, podcasting, social media, info-graphics, and any other technology which arises in this space to connect with audience groups.
- Collect and validate information to support the role.
- Assist with the development and implementation of communication plans on behalf of Departments/Branches and the identification of opportunities for engagements with key stakeholders
- Prepare, write and distribute content of the appropriate channels, either owned, earned or external.
- Perform any other general administration duties.
To be considered for this opportunity, you should demonstrate:
- Minimum of 2 years brand, social, and digital marketing experience ideally in a large government
- Ability to create engaging, compelling content and demonstrate strong copywrite ability
- A fast-paced and exciting scale-up environment.
- Work with a collaborative and supportive team
- Tertiary qualification in journalism, public relations, marketing and/or communications
- Current “C” class drivers licence
Initially this is a temporary role between 3-6 months however with possibility of further extension and/or permanency in the future.
