About the NFF
The National Farmers’ Federation (NFF), based in Canberra, is the peak body representing Australian farmers and agriculture. The NFF’s purpose is to lead Australian Agriculture with a bold target for agriculture to be Australia’s next $100 billion industry.
The NFF is seeking a full-time digital guru, preferably located in Canberra, to join the team on a fixed term contract until 31 December 2024, with the possibility of an extension. The successful candidate will work on the exciting NFF led initiative, the Australian Agricultural Sustainability Framework (AASF), and take on the coordination of the NFF’s social media presence.
This role is the perfect next step for a motivated individual looking to showcase their digital skills. You’ll be joining a busy team who have a passion for advocacy and for making a difference in rural and regional Australia.
What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the General Manager, Natural Resource Management (0.6 FTE), and the General Manager, Corporate Affairs (0.4 FTE), your role will involve:
- Taking our social media to the next level with timely, engaging and on-message content for both the NFF, and our new project.
- Developing content including graphics and videos to support the AASF and NFF’s digital platforms and communications.
- Managing our websites (including nff.org.au, farmers.org.au, farmhub.org.au and agday.org.au)
- Collaborating with our Member organisations and Partners to maximise our collective online impact.
- Assisting in the preparation of project communication and marketing plan.
- Coordination the project’s communication and marketing activities consistent with its communication and marketing plan – this includes providing content to assist Departmental communications.
- Coordination of the NFF’s e-mail marketing, including 2 weekly e-newsletters and one fortnightly e-newsletter.
- Management of marketing and communications database and distribution lists.
- Coordination of, and assisting with, content curation for the Project.
- Coordination of digital campaigns on advocacy issues, as well as initiatives such as Forums and events, National Agriculture Day, and other NFF events and projects.
- Management of delivery of project and partnership obligations via digital media (including website and newsletter advertising and sponsored content).
To Be Successful in this Role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications, digital media or a related field.
- Two years’ experience in a marketing or digital communications role.
- Experience in and/or a passion and empathy for agriculture and regional Australia.
Essential:
- High-level Microsoft Word, Outlook & PowerPoint ability.
- Advanced digital and social media skills.
- Wordpress skills.
- Intermediate graphic design and video editing skills, using the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Confidence in written and verbal communication and a passion for building relationships.
- High attention to detail.
- A team player who can also work autonomously, often under pressure.
Desirable:
- Advanced WordPress skills.
- Experience in marketing via social media platforms.
- Ideally the position will be based in Canberra, however, for the right candidate, we’re open to discussing this.
