Job description

  • Full-time permanent position based at Mile End with WFH after probation

This exciting opportunity will see you as a Digital Motor Assessor, review, consider, determine, negotiate, and complete all motor assessment activities to provide the most fair and reasonable outcome for all parties. You will digitally determine, review, assess, verify, and manage repair quotes to ensure repairs fall in line with RAA insurance repair allowances without compromise to quality and/or safety. In addition, you will:

  • Complete digital assessments ensuring all process requirements are followed .
  • Complying with relevant acts, the insurance code of practice, Motor Vehicle Repair Industry Code (MVRIC) code of conduct along with guidelines for quality and safely.
  • Conduct vehicle damage assessments utilising our ARNIE system
  • Determine outcomes for repair or total loss
  • Conduct quality audits on car repairs and associated documentation
  • Negotiate and authorise repair costs and outcomes with all parties involved
  • Respond to technical inquiries and assist to resolve complex claims
  • Attend court as a subject matter expert and explain your decisions

About you

You are a confident and passionate self-motivated individual who enjoys working in a high performing culture. You're passionate about helping our community (and members) and want to make a difference.

In the role of Motor Assessor, you will need the technical skill, communication, and decision-making abilities to negotiate and determine motor assessment matters to ensure a fair and reasonable outcome for all parties along with:

  • A trade certificate in panel beating and/or spray painting or related is essential or, Institute of Automotive Mechanical Engineer's AUR40520 - Certificate IV in Vehicle Loss Assessing or recognised equivalent.
  • Excellent customer focus, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Experience working within management areas of the motor repair industry, ideally having previously managed a Crash Repair Workshop, including experience with client liaison and administration
  • Strong technical skills in relation to quoting, repair and painting of motor vehicles
  • Strong conflict management and decision-making skills
  • Intermediate keyboard and computer skills
  • Ability to prioritise and manage day-to-day workload
