The Digital Producer's primary role is to drive the quality of assets, stories, videos, images, and graphics across Herald Sun’s platforms, app, homepage, social channels, and alerts.
Role responsibilities:
- All-rounder with writing, editing and digital production skills.
- Work with journalists to produce digital-first content that grows our on-platform and off-platform audiences.
- Ensure each Herald Sun story is built to publish standard and optimised for distribution through off-platform channels including SEO, social media, app alerts and newsletters.
- Lead digital-first projects, or playing a key role in project teams, to deliver compelling content.
- Collaborate with video/audio and SEO experts to ensure delivery of world-class digital storytelling.
- Manage the Herald Sun app, homepage.
- A keen news sense and a strong interest in what is happening in Victoria
- Writing, editing and digital production skills (copy editing, headline writing, video editing, graphic design)
- An interest in other media sites and how they produce, display and promote their content
- Team-first attitude
- Self starter willing to find and solve problems independently
- Ability to learn new skills and technology
