The Digital Solutions Advisor is a lead role in enabling the business to achieve their objectives through the effective use of technology. They are a partner to missions, and business units and science/enterprise programs, in their digital strategy implementation. The role provides an interface to Information Management & Technology (IMT) and CSIRO’s Digital Transformation program on strategic technology issues and provides advice to missions and business units during their digital transformations. The role assists with technology strategy development, solution discovery, risk management and relationship management.
They serve as the business relationship link between missions, business units, digital transformation and IMT. The role provides highly valued support during strategy development, and then guidance through delivery of key IT initiatives – it supports the whole lifecycle of their digital transformation programs, from initial business needs’ understanding to final delivery of the solution. They communicate decisions, priorities and relevant project information to IMT and digital transformation staff regarding business unit requests and projects and initiatives.
The Digital Solutions Advisors have broad subject matter expertise across IMT’s portfolio of products and services, and their applicability in support of research and engineering, and thereby assist connecting leadership teams to the appropriate IMT function, facilitation of design and implementing solutions to support project needs, including aspects like compute, network, storage, and security.
Your duties will include:
- Accountable to the customer for the development and implementation of solution roadmaps and to ensure successful introductions across the organisation and with customers.
- Collaborate with management to develop annual technology budgets for respective business areas.
- Develop solution concepts and business cases for new investments.
- Perform business analysis and prepare recommendations and business plans as needed.
- Create and analyse relevant information and develop recommendations that they present to senior management.
- Act as the key liaison across all functional areas, including business units, IMT, and outside vendors.
- Possess a broad knowledge of most technical and business resources and use them to effectively coordinate team members and external resources.

Salary: AU$121k - AU$142k plus up to 15.4% superannuation

To be considered you will need:
- Significant experience in managing key partnerships and relationships with the business.
- Demonstrated high capability to think and plan strategically, and to deliver operational execution excellence.
- Strong analytical skills, including an understanding of business economics and financial resources.
- Significant track record of LEAN thinking that has driven changes that enabled efficiencies and driven growth.
- Demonstrated ability to understand systems behaviour at the whole/big picture level and be able to analyse requirements into concepts to meet client requirements.
- Experience harnessing information and opportunities to respond positively to change and to take responsibility for managing work projects to achieve results.
