We are seeking a skilled Senior Digital/Web Analyst to join this Government Digital Service Experience team,
The team is responsible for supporting and managing the organisation’s digital products measurement platforms (Google Analytics) and providing guidance and advice in the alignment of product metrics with business goals and user needs.
The team also provides product management and human centred design/user experience to the organisation, for the delivery of high-quality digital products and services.

The role’s main tasks will be focused on the Digital mapping of Australia to provide timely, accurate, trusted, accessible and analysis ready information on Australia’s geography, for data-driven, evidence-based solutions and decision making. The role will also action support requests from different business areas, and assist in shaping and enhancing.
As the Senior Digital/Web Analyst you will report to the Service Experience Manager and work closely with business areas, consultants, developers, scientists, etc. to ensure enterprise, program, project and/or user requirements are being met.
Essential criteria
- Demonstrated experience (3 yrs+) with configuring, using and maintaining Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Tag Manager, for multiple products and platforms.
- Demonstrated experience in web data analysis and creating dashboards (e.g. Looker, PowerBI, etc.) to meet client reporting needs.
- Experience in eliciting and/or understanding business needs and converting them into trackable measurements for digital products. As well as communicating insights to clients.
- Demonstrated ability to self-manage and track work within task management software (e.g. JIRA), whilst working collaboratively within a diverse team environment.
Desirable criteria
- Experience as a Web Analytics Developer, namely with tracking tag creation, management and working with developers to integrate into websites/web applications.
- Experience with GIS technologies (e.g. ESRI products – AGOL, etc.) and understanding of geospatial concepts.
- Experience with campaigns management, SEO, analytics auditing, creating measurement plans, cross platform/product tracking, analytics governance, and/or user data privacy.
