Length of Contract:12 months

Scope of Works:

The Training Manager will be responsible for the delivery of the training strategy and the development, implementation and management of training plans and resources. Working with NT Health and DCDD stakeholders, the Training Manager will be a senior leader in the delivery of successful changes as a result of the Program.

The role will require working closely with:

  • NT Health training providers, managers and end users
  • DCDD training providers and recourses
  • CCSRP Program Team including Subject Matter Experts , Business Analysts, Business Process Officers, Project Managers, Change, Communications and Training Team members and other program resources
  • Vendor/s.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Reporting to the CCSRP Change, Communications and Training Manager, will work as part of the wider Implementation Team in a coordinated approach across multiple locations to conduct activities such as:

  • Lead and management trainers and training support officers to effectively implement the training strategy, plan(s) and other training deliverables.
  • Establish and maintain productive working partnerships across NT Health in relation to clinical information systems training including design, delivery and assessment of training effectiveness.
  • Deliver on the Training Strategy and ensure the smooth transition of resources and skills from the Program to NT Health and DCDD as the program progresses.
  • Promote consistent and robust system use by all staff to support them in their roles and ultimately improve patient care.
  • Develop, maintain and deliver effective training plans to ensure the production of training materials, utilising various media including classroom instructor-led training, e-learning and Madcap Flare knowledge base etc.
  • Undertake training validation; based on the Change plans, work with the Change Manager to include any necessary training gaps or required changes to the training plans to make it specific to the area of service or site.
  • Participate in “Go-Live” activities to ensure that NT Health users feel supported and that the necessary training and change activities have occurred and are effective.
  • Identify areas for improvement and take ownership of improvement initiatives that sit within the Training space.

Deliverables:

  • Development of high quality documents, templates, reports and presentations to enable training and stakeholder activities.
  • Ensuring the Training strategy and plan is implemented and managed effectively, in line with the overall Program schedule and approach.
  • Ensuring effective engagement of critical clinical and non-clinical stakeholders.

Overview of the project & work unit the position is related to: CCSRP is a major technology program that will transform the delivery of health care services for Territorians by delivering a Territory-wide single, integrated health electronic record system. Working closely with NT Health, the CCSRP team comprises public sector employees and contractors working together to deliver multiple streams of activity as the program is implemented. The work environment is dynamic, fast-paced and results driven with high expectations of superior service delivery.

The successful implementation of the new clinical system (Acacia) which has already commenced, will require a significant amount of effective communication, stakeholder engagement, change management and training to guide NT Health through this revolutionary, but complex, journey of change.


Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Management of training delivery for a project or program of significant size.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage the training function to support meaningful change, enabled by technology, in a healthcare environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of principles, frameworks and methodologies relevant to adult education, including a) training needs assessments and analysis; b) training program design and delivery, including e-learning approaches; c) competency-based training; and d) evaluation of training effectiveness.
  • Proven understanding of current and emerging trends in information technology relevant to the delivery of training programs.
  • High level knowledge of Australian standards applicable to the delivery of training in a clinical health environment.
  • Well demonstrated application of strategies, tactics and protocols that enable effective relationships across a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including those with English as a second language.
  • High level expertise in training management and change management, including ability to analyse and report on complex issues, evaluate associated benefits and strategies.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in healthcare.
  • Previous experience working in a healthcare program/project.

Personal Qualities required of Candidate(s):

  • High level ability to be flexible, maintain program focus, and manage change in an environment of continuous improvement and change.
  • Ability to identify the relationship between organisational goals and operational tasks, and clearly communicate decisions, reasoning, goals and objectives.
  • Ability to understand the clinical work environment and its influences, and to initiate and modify training approaches relevant to the audience.
  • Well-developed cross cultural communication, influencing and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and sustain productive relationships with a network of people from diverse backgrounds internally and externally.
  • High level written communication skills necessary for the formulation of quality plans, strategies, policies and frameworks.
  • Ability to think analytically and research widely, to identify solutions and resolve issues, and to initiate and promote action supporting continuous improvement
  • Ability to build and sustain positive, outcome-oriented relationships with team members.
