The Real Review team is Australia and New Zealand's largest Digital Wine publication reviewing thousands of wines every year based in Sydney and Auckland. We are hiring a Digital Wine Marketing & Sales Operations for their operations base in Sydney.
We are looking for an individual with a passion for wine, deep understanding of winemaking, wineries and restaurants to help the business in the next phase of growth. This will include refining our marketing mix for existing wine review products and services, as well as develop new ones - in particular capturing new wine market potential with restaurants and end consumers.
You will be responsible for setting up and managing key elements of the marketing activities with our winery customers and help grow our existing business and develop new products for restaurants, wine retailers and end users of our wine review services.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop, review and refine our business development activities with wineries driving growth in our existing products and services, as well as develop new products
- Drive surveys and other primary and secondary research to evaluate our existing winery services and identify opportunities for improvement, growth and new products
- Help the business leadership formulate and implement an effective winery marketing plan addressing all elements of the marketing mix, including products & services, pricing strategies, promotion including sales and advertising in social media as well as online and offline media, and channel strategy for the distribution of our products and services
- Liaising with our winery customers as part of our marketing & sales activities to manage wine samples as the foundational step of winery marketing
- Handling any other duties related to our marketing engagement with wineries as reasonably directed by management
- Develop and launch new wine related products and services tailored to restaurants and end wine consumers. This includes primary and secondary market research into wine service in restaurants and wine purchase funnel decisions by end consumers. On the basis of the market research you will develop the marketing mix of the new services, including product configuration, pricing, sales & promotion and distribution.
- Liaising with our wine writers, publishing team, events team and Head of Client Relations, as well as other team members
- Managing and placing advertisements on various channels, including concepts, content and budgets
- Executing and supervising the performance of marketing and sales activities, including for events, and fine tuning advertisement placements accordingly
- Located in Sydney with our operations hub near Green Square, Alexandria
- Highly flexible setup: Some time spent at our operations hub in Alexandria where wines are received and sorted. Some of the time working remote, e.g. from home
- Ability to work with a number of team members in different locations across Australia and New Zealand and work on our wine events in capital cities across Australia and New Zealand
- Bachelor degree in relevant field
- At least 2 years of relevant experience
- Must be based in Sydney, New South Wales
- Comfortable with remote working, including phone, video calls both to colleagues as well as wineries, retailers and distributors
- Good understanding of wine, including wine varieties, regions and styles
- Completely fluent in digital technologies, including mobile and social media
- Full proficiency in written English
- Quick learner
