East Lindfield Community Preschool is seeking an experienced and energetic Diploma qualified Educator to join our team for a Maternity leave contract, commencing Term 3 2024 with the potential for casual days during Term 2.
ABOUT THE POSITION
Working with a dedicated team of Educators lead by a qualified Early Childhood Teacher, you will work Monday – Friday (7.30am – 2.30pm) educating 3 – 5 year olds. Your team is responsible for developing to and delivering a high quality and inclusive educational experience for all children within your classroom. This position also works closely with the staff in the other classrooms to ensure cohesion and support across the Preschool.
ABOUT YOU
You are a warm, globally minded and dedicated educator, with the ability to inspire students in their love of learning. Your experience working collaboratively within a team, ensures you are an excellent communicator who is adaptable and able to confidently lead the class when required. Your high level of written and verbal professionalism when liaising with parents, our community and other staff exhibits your understanding of best practice in Early Childhood Education.
To be successful in this role, you will be proficient in:
- Planning and implementing age-appropriate educational programs that align with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS).
- Creating and maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages children to explore and discover.
- Monitoring and recording each child's progress, development, and milestones, communicating regularly with parents or guardians.
- Building strong partnerships with families and fostering a sense of community within the preschool.
SELECTION CRITERIA
- A recognised Diploma in Early Education and Care as approved by the Australian Children’s Education and Quality Authority (ACECQA)
- Valid NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Genuine passion for working with children and their families
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience working effectively within a team
- Sound understanding of the NQF, EYLF v2.0, Education and Care Services National Law (2010) and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011)
- A level of mobility that supports the ability to respond to a first aid / behavioural incident
- Current First Aid and CPR qualifications
- Current knowledge of Child Protection legislation and its implications for the care and protection of children
- Computer literacy skills

WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK, FIRST AID, FOOD SAFETY AND WORKING RIGHTS
The successful applicant for this position will be required to hold a current NSW Working with Children Check clearance; first aid qualifications (HLTAID0012) including CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis management; and food handler certificate.
