Job description

Position Overview: We are looking for a qualified Arboriculture Trainer and Curriculum Developer to train Diploma of Arboriculture and associated short courses. The successful candidate will create engaging curriculum materials, conduct online and in-person training sessions, and ensure our programs align with vocational training compliance, industry standards and best practices.

Responsibilities:

  1. Curriculum Development:
    • Design and develop a comprehensive arboriculture training curriculum for individuals pursuing a diploma in arboriculture.
    • Create instructional materials, presentations, and assessments to enhance the learning experience, considering both online and in-person formats.
  2. Training Delivery:
    • Conduct engaging and informative training sessions for students, incorporating theoretical and practical aspects of Arboriculture.
    • Facilitate training sessions through online platforms and in-person workshops, ensuring an effective learning experience in both settings.
    • During in-person sessions, provide hands-on training in tree care techniques, safety procedures, and equipment operation.
  3. Assessment and Feedback:
    • Develop and implement assessment tools to evaluate student performance and understanding online and in person.
    • Provide constructive feedback to students to support their learning and skill development.
  4. Stay Updated on Industry Trends:
    • Keep abreast of developments and trends in the arboriculture industry to ensure that training programs reflect current best practices.
  5. Collaboration:
    • Work collaboratively with other trainers, educators, and industry experts to enhance the quality of our programs.
    • Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or higher qualification in arboriculture or a related field.
  • TAE40122 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment

Proven experience as an Arboriculture Trainer or in a similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of tree care, pruning, and safety practices.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop engaging and effective training materials for both online and in-person delivery.
  • Familiarity with curriculum development principles and techniques.
  • Passion for education and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.

Hours and Salary:

  • Work hours and salary are negotiable based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
