Darren Reserve Kindergarten Inc is a not for profit, community based Kindergarten. It offers three and four year old kindergarten programs. We are a well established , well-resourced kindergarten that has been part of the Springvale South/ Keysborough community for nearly 50 years . The kinder is operated by a parent-run Committee of Management who respect and value educators expertise and support and actively encourage their professional development The Kindergarten consists of a collaborative, compassionate and supportive team of 10 Staff including a highly experienced and motivated Educational Leader. We provide an inclusive and educational play-based curriculum in a safe, secure learning environment where all children are able to experience a sense of belonging and where our focus is on slowing down and being in the moment

- Enjoy the benefits of working in Sessional Kindergarten with paid school term breaks throughout the year, and annual leave over the Christmas / summer holidays. Working 40 weeks per year, paid for 52 weeks. The highest level of Diploma under the VECTEA award is 2.3 based on experience which is $27.68 per hour.

- Hours per week (14 contact hours, 3.5 non-contact hours)
- Thursday 8.00 – 4.45 and Friday 8.00 – 4.45
Job Role
This position is for a part time Diploma Qualified Educator to join our wonderful ECT and Diploma Educator team in delivering a high quality play based inclusive Educational programme for our Four Year old Butterfly group .
Key Selection Criteria
To be considered for the role you must :
- Have Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or Certificate III of Early Childhood Education and Care (Educators)
- Demonstrate a proven understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)and Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) National Quality Standards, Early Years Developmental Milestones
- Have a current approved first aid/CPR certificate First Aid/CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma training
- Have a working with Children check (WWCC)
- Demonstrate a passion for teaching, professional development, and collaboration
- Have experience in planning, programming, and observing children’s developmental growth
- Have a strong understanding and the capacity to work with children with a diverse range of abilities and backgrounds
- Actively support every child to participate in the program and ensure that the program promotes children’s agency, choices and influence
- Actively supervise and support children during excursions, incursions, Nature walks and Bush Kinder as directed by the Lead Teacher
- As directed, be able to undertake general cleanliness and set up and set down of equipment and activities
- Maintain confidentiality of records
- Develop and maintain respectful relationships with children, families and Parents/ Caregivers, Colleagues, Committee of Management, Support Agencies, Community Groups
- A sound understanding of play-based pedagogy
- The ability to work and manage time effectively with minimal supervision,
- Excellent communication skills and work well as part of a team.
- Demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of the Child Safe Standards and be able to use strategies to actively ensure the safety, protection and wellbeing of children who come into association with Darren Reserve Kindergarten Inc.
- Have the ability to work in a professional manner at all times and ensure that the service meets the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Law (National Law), Education and Care Services National Regulations (Regulations), relevant curriculum framework, the Quality Improvement Plan, and policies and procedures of the service
