The Organisation
You will be working for a Local Health District that covers a vast area of 5,687 square kilometres south of Sydney servicing a population of around 400,000. With a diverse landscape that includes beautiful beaches, lush rainforests, and friendly communities, the LHD offers an exciting lifestyle that goes beyond just a salary. The LHD operates eight hospital sites, employs over 8,500 staff and provides community health services across 58 locations. The Job
- This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Director of Medical Services to play a part in major organisational and operational changes
- We are seeking an experienced medical administrator with a track record of leading change across a complex health system.
- The DMS is a senior executive accountable, in collaboration with senior clinical and management colleagues, for ensuring delivery of quality clinical outcomes, District KPIs and strategic priorities. You will be a key member of the District Quality and Governance Council, the Hub and Group executive teams, and other coordinating bodies.
- You will provide oversight to systems assuring the quality of clinical care, including processes of adverse incident review and review of professional credentials, privileges and conduct.
- The DMS will role model and lead a culture of excellence based on the organisation's values to ensure the organisation delivers safe and timely patient centred care.
- You will also provide support to the General Manager, Operations Managers, relevant Divisional Co-Directors and HoDs and where required, the DMS supports medical workforce and educational/accreditation activities.
- The DMS has the professional reporting line for all junior and senior medical staff through the Heads of Department and Divisional Co-Directors.

Requirements
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (FRACMA) or expected to receive FRACMA in the next six months or other specialist recognition with significant relevant experience as a clinical leader.
