An exciting opportunity to lead DCJ's financial accounting, reporting and governance functions, and provide expert advice to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on financial accounting, reporting, analysis and related policy matters, with a key responsibility to managing the Department's relationships and delivery to internal and external stakeholders.
What you'll do
You will lead a diverse team in the delivery of DCJ's Financial Management and Reporting functions, including accounting, reporting and governance.
You will also:
- Drive the Department's financial accounting function to deliver strategically focused, high quality financial and accounting services to support the achievement of organisational objectives.
- Build the Department's capacity to analyse and improve its operational performance through sound Financial Management practices.
- Deliver expert advice to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on financial accounting, reporting, analysis and related policy matters, as well as on strategic financing solutions such as the use of payment solutions and financing of major transactions.
- Direct the review, development and implementation of financial reporting systems including identifying and mitigating risks.
- Manage taxation, reconciliation, forecasting, and other financial processes.
- Lead the management of DCJs' accounting policy and governance including technical accounting, tax and statutory reporting and financial delegations, ensuring policies remain relevant to the Department's operations.
- Oversee high performing teams to ensure the preparation of high-quality accounts for the Department.
- Develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to secure commitment to strategies and programs and provide Financial Management, support and information that ensures all financial obligations and priorities are met.

- Innovative thinking, with the ability to see the “bigger picture” in relation to service delivery.
- Strong financial background and expertise, with a well-rounded skillset across accounting, reporting, governance and compliance
