Job description

The Director, Informit will be responsible for leading the business, it's partners and customers into the future and beyond. It is critical Informit retain the current aggregation business, particularly CAUL to protect revenue, continuity and reputation. This will involve overseeing the end-to-end Informit value chain, delivering excellent customer experience, ensuring customer retention and nurturing existing relationships.

Client Details

Informit is a business unit of RMIT Training and provides a respected aggregation service to the academic and research sector. Its collection of over 100 databases provides access to unique specialist content which cover a wide range of subjects including health, engineering, business, education, law, humanities and social sciences. Informit works with library consortia and government associations across Australia, New Zealand and some strategically chosen international subscribers. The portfolio also includes media products such as EduTV and TV News which brings multimedia content into the learning environment.

Description

  • Reporting to the CEO, the Director - Informit will be responsible for:
  • Refining the vision for Informit and develop and deliver strategies to achieve that vision
  • Leading a team culture of reaching sales targets and KPIs
  • Leading the development of new products and services that support the vision for Informit
  • Responsibilities for activities across the whole employee lifecycle, from recruitment through to effective management of performance, development, engagement and motivation
  • Working with the team and / or CEO to evaluate and potentially pursue initiatives that have been highlighted as future developments for Informit, ensuring they are commercially viable

Profile

As the successful applicant you will ideally possess:

  • Understanding of relevant technology/ digital platforms (digitisation) and demonstrated experience working with software development, data and analytics
  • Solid track record of experience in leading high performing multi-disciplinary teams, including a sales team, product team through well-developed business strategies and plans
  • Proven experience implementing product development and project managing programs and initiatives
  • Demonstrated understanding of how to deliver and measure customer experience and the ability to demonstrate improvements over time
  • Sound knowledge of the electronic publishing and/or library and information service industries with strong insights regarding trends and developments, particularly emerging digital and social media services
  • Strategic and entrepreneurial mindset with ability to articulate and communicate a vision for others as well as the ability to conceptualise and drive implementation of products and services
  • Extensive local and international business development experience within the publishing and/or library/information service industries, including proven ability to identify and successfully develop new revenue streams and achieve targets
