The Building Commission NSW are looking for a Licensing and Accreditation executive to lead a responsive and risk-based approach to delegated decision-making and build collaborative cross-jurisdictional relationships to drive best practice regulatory outcomes.
About the role
As the Director Licensing and Accreditation, you will drive the development of licensing programs, systems and processes that promote the integrity of regulated sectors. The role leads a responsive and risk-based approach to delegated licensing decision-making and builds collaborative cross-jurisdictional relationships to drive best practice regulatory outcomes.
A dynamic opportunity in the accreditation domain, leading a comprehensive review of existing procedures and processes. Dive into the intricacies of addressing backlogs and streamlining extensive application forms, meticulously unpacking legislative frameworks to ensure precision in our inquiries.
Your expertise will play a pivotal role in not only verifying the relevance of our question forms but also proposing innovative and streamlined processes that elevate our accreditation standards.
The role is responsible for applying different types of legislation, requiring collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective outcomes are met.
The preferred candidate will be part of collaborative leadership team which is open to sharing ideas and knowledge to ensure best outcomes are achieved.
Leading a highly engaged team of 6 direct reports and approximately 90 indirect team members creating a culture of collaboration in a high volume environment

The Ideal Candidate will have an established industry connection with knowledge of the current relationships of the regulator and the industry. You will understand the foundations delivered by the Construct NSW strategy.

  • An experienced leader with expertise in administration of licensing and accreditation operations.
  • Someone who delivers digital, customer-focused solutions to provide mechanisms to support the quality and standards of licensing and accreditation within the sector.
  • You understand how to oversee the monitoring of risk based compliance in line with legislative requirements specific to the industry.
  • A natural relationship person who can collaborate and work with other jurisdictions, ministerial contacts and other senior leaders to drive positive reform.
  • You possess an inherent ability to drive continuous improvement in license and accreditation processing all whilst maintaining a risk based approach to regulation.
  • A natural coach and mentor to others, who emphasises an impartial and merit based approach to licensing and accreditation decisions.
  • Lastly, your commitment to ethical frameworks-ensuring open disclosure, corruption prevention, and adherence to public sector values-will be pivotal in maintaining integrity, trust, and accountability

Note: we are currently undergoing Baseline Vetting to a PROTECTED level with NSWPF. Baseline vetting will be required to access NSWPF COPS system.
