Role Outline
The Director, Medical Council Services leads the staff that provide direct regulatory services and functions to the NSW Medical Council. The role is responsible for the overall delivery of administrative and policy services to the Council which is established to manage complaints about the health, conduct and performance of registered health practitioners who practise in NSW. The Director is expected to ensure that the services provided by the HPCA are effective and provided in a timely manner to enable the Council to carry out its statutory functions under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (NSW). The role also forms part of the HPCA Executive Team and is required to lead and manage strategic initiatives and business improvement across the HPCA in order to ensure continuous improvement and development in the services provided by the organisation.

- Outline your experience in overseeing and improving the delivery of high-quality services to achieve business outcomes including optimum levels of service delivery, standards and compliance requirements, while also focusing on the client/customer experience.
- Please provide an example of a difficult or complex project where you were required to work with people at different levels within an organisation and with external stakeholders. What was the outcome and how did you overcome any barriers? What lessons did you learn from the experience?
The successful candidate will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and/or experience and training.
- Extensive senior management experience in a large organisation / business at an executive level preferably within health or regulation.
- Demonstrated ability to provide direction to deliver quality services in a complex and high pressured environment.
This is an ongoing, full time, Band 1, Health Service senior executive (HSSE) role. An attractive remuneration package within the range of $205,222 to $229,325 per annum (SOORT 2023), will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
