AddressThis position is responsible for overseeing Clinical Care and service provision at our Avondale Heights Aged Care Home - a spacious light filled residence with sweeping views over the Maribyrnong River parklands.
The role is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of quality outcomes relating to accreditation, infection prevention and control, clinical risk management, resident feedback, service quality, and policy management through audits, education and training, and effective staff supervision.
What will you be doing?
- Liaising with residents, their representatives, and other health care professionals to ensure the provision of the best possible care to our residents
- Achieving clinical outcomes for residents according to professional standards of contemporary nursing practice
- In conjunction with the Clinical Care Coordinator, manage the allocation of duties / staffing
- Implementing preventative actions to ensure risks are either eliminated or minimised
- Enabling residents to retain their personal rights and achieve control of their own lives by treating all residents with dignity and respect, valuing their identity, culture, and diversity
- Ensuring appropriate clinical charting / monitoring and identifying opportunities for quality improvement
- Monitoring direct care staff performance in a proactive manner
- Overseeing and supporting the management of changes in resident behaviour, behaviour support plans and restrictive practices
- Overseeing Resident of the Day, and resident reviews
- Managing accreditation and unannounced visits, incidents, complaints and other investigations
- Attending and chairing meetings as required
- Facilitate the involvement of all staff in the Plan for Continuous Improvement
To be considered for the position you will have:
- Minimum five years’ experience in Aged Care
- Experience in Key Performance Indicators, the National Quality Indicator Program and an understanding of Clinical governance and accountability
- Knowledge of the current Aged Care Quality Standards and Aged Care Act
- Understanding of all aged care and disability funding
- Demonstrated experience in clinical leadership including effective communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
- Strong planning, time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, delegate and project manage
