The position is responsible for communicating Asia Society Australia’s purpose, programs and policy insights in ways that are engaging, creative and impactful.
To be considered for this role you need to be a great writer and editor. You need to be able to conceive and deliver Digital Content that communicates Asia Society Australia’s purpose, programs and policy insights in creative, engaging and impactful ways. You need to be skilled at managing a website and social media. You need to be able to build and maintain relationships with the mainstream media, both in Australia and internationally. You should have an interest in, and knowledge of, Asia. As the head of a small, agile team, you must be both strategic but also willing to get your hands dirty.

KEY DUTIES
- Develop and deliver Digital Content that is engaging, creative and impactful.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with Australian and international media organisations.
- Managing website, social media channels and produce EDMs.
- Oversee the development of promotional materials including program collateral, and large-scale event material.
- Supervise and manage the Digital Content producer.
- Oversee brand and visual identity to ensure consistent application across all external and internal communications.
- Contribute to Asia Society’s global communication strategies and work collaboratively with communications teams in Asia Society Centres around the world.
- 3 – 5 years or more of relevant work experience in content and communications management in a corporate, academic or not-for-profit setting, although other relevant experience will also be considered.
- Outstanding writing and editing skills.
- Ability to develop and deliver impactful and engaging Digital Content.
- Knowledge of Asia
- Strategic and outcomes-focused
- Adept at managing the social media portfolio of a busy organisation.
- Ability to develop and maintain networks in the mainstream media both in Australia and internationally
- A team player who is creative, enthusiastic, with strong project management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- A reliable self-starter who can work independently and in a small-team, and is willing to get their hands dirty.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop or Illustrator.
- Ability to travel interstate and overseas when required.
- Ability to work before/after standard business hours
- Experience in Customer Relationship Management Systems, preferably Salesforce.
