As a specialist homelessness and domestic and family violence service provider, they directly support individuals in regional areas into crisis, transitional and long-term stable housing, whether it be social, affordable, private rental or home-ownership markets.

The Director of Community Services will launch the new strategic plan and have complete oversight over the Plus Community subsidiary which will house all Community Services, including Staying Home Leaving Violence (SHLV), Women’s Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service (WDVCAS), The Orchard Emergency Domestic Violence Accommodation, the Initial Transitional Service (ITS), the Orange Homelessness Support Service, Men’s Behaviour Change, Opportunity Pathways, and Together Home.

With a commitment to exceptional leadership, clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and strategic growth, we are seeking a Director of Community Services to apply their knowledge across the domestic violence and/or homelessness sector to lead a dedicated team and launch the new strategic plan.

Reporting to the CEO, this person will be a vital part of the Executive team and will be responsible for the delivery of sustainable client-centric programs by creating strategic networks, maintaining key partner relationships and supporting a cohesive and multidisciplinary team dedicated to the best outcomes for clients across various initiatives focused on homelessness and domestic and family violence.

We are searching for a collaborative, transparent and empathetic leader who is driven to understand the local community and who takes pride in being a trusted partner to all internal stakeholders, external partners and the community.
  
Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead and manage a diverse team with oversight of 75 indirect reports and 4 direct reports, including the DV Services Manager, Tenancies Manager, and Orchards Manager, and future Clinical Governance Manager/Practice Lead promoting high levels of collaboration, trust, performance and professional development
  • Clinical Governance and Compliance: Oversee clinical practices, governance practices, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance to ensure the highest standards of customer-centered care and service delivery across all Plus Community service programs
  • Contract Management and Stakeholder Engagement: Manage contracts and engage with funding bodies to secure resources and support for all programs, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and strategic objectives
  • Strategic Growth: Drive business development efforts to expand service offerings, identify new growth opportunities, and foster strategic partnerships aligned with the organisations mission and new strategic plan
  • Practice Framework Development: Lead the development and enhancement of the practice framework, focusing on clinical governance, client critical response, a client-centered approach and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Community and Stakeholder Relations: Establish and maintain strong relationships within the community, collaborating with stakeholders to enhance service delivery and support client needs effectively
Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum Bachelors’ degree qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
  • Experience and proven success in leadership positions across Community Services with specialised knowledge of domestic and family violence, homelessness, children's services or health
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, managing large teams and fostering a positive collaborative and respectful culture
  • Strong business acumen with experience in contract management, budget oversight, and strategic planning
  • Proven track record identifying and pursuing new opportunities for service expansion and development
  • Deep understanding of clinical practices, governance practices, and regulatory requirements in social services
  • A valid driver's license
